Antônio Gomes - O AMOR DIVINO
Antônio Gomes arrived in the doctrine in the year of 1938, together with the family that would become one of the main foundations of the doctrine, like his son Leôncio Gomes and his granddaughter Peregrina Serra, respectively Mestre's successor in the presidency of the works and Mestre's widow, today ahead of his center in Alto Santo.
Some tell that when deciding to sing a hinário after the healing sessions, Mestre liked to sing the one of Antônio Gomes. Another interesting story is that when alive his hymn #5 was not sung in the danced services. According to Ms. Adália de Castro Grangeiro, his daughter and keeper of his hinário, he had his own reasons to it, but he had never declared that it was to remain that way. After his death Mestre Irineu sought her to ask for this hymn to be placed back in the works, which she answers to Luiz Carlos Teixeira,
“Well, I even tried, but people weren't used to it, they didn’t feel like rehearsing and I wasn’t born to give orders…”
“Are you saying to me that Mestre asked and nobody did?! And that this hymn is until today out of the danced services just because they didn’t attend his request?”
“Yes…”
“And what about Mestre? Didn’t he ask again?”
“Oh! He never spoke twice the same thing, unless the brother or sister didn’t understand and had asked for an explanation. When he spoke, who had paid attention and wanted to obey, obeyed...”
We are also going to witness in his hinário a reference to Juramidam (#13), where it says “The General Juramidam / His works are in the astral”. This is the first time that such denomination occurs in the hymns and together with the one of Mestre's (#111), they are the only to appear in the base hinários. Antônio Gomes made his passage in the year of 1946.

This hinário was made available to the fraternity by Eduardo Sampaio and recorded in Alto Santo, in the center of Mr. Tufi (CICLUJUR), with the same perfection of the voices, instruments and rhythm found in Germano's recording. This center is today one of the most dedicated to recover the original liturgy of the works. The hymn #5 is presented a cappella, not danced and it is a reference to a received cure.
